Cocoa and Bowie, and it's not even my Birthday!

The cookie battle has continued. Last night it took up my whole evening...which I generally prefer to fill with sweet nothingness. So I got home at about 6 (stupid traffic...) and was going strong until 9:30 (at which point I was exhausted and passed out). This morning, I jerked up in bed after something had seemingly fallen on me (in my dream). George looked at me like I was a mad woman and my 5 o'clock alarm went off about a minute later...at least I was wide awake already? That didn't change the fact that I desperately wanted to crawl back under the covers and sleep for another couple hours.

So Little Red (mixer) was brought out again last night. This time I was making Mexican Wedding Cookies (I always knew them as Almond Crescents when my sister made them)...which are basically shortbread cookies with pecans (or almonds or whatever) that are dipped in icing sugar when at a temperature you can handle (or a little too hot really...the hotter they are, the better the icing sugar melts). Those turned out quite successfully (if I do say so myself), but no pictures were taken sorry...too busy, too sticky of hands!
For a recipe, I don't have a go to one yet. I just Googled Mexican Wedding Cookies and picked which ones were either rated the best or seemed the most suitable to me.

Afterward, I wanted to make a few plain shortbread cookies (only about a dozen) for those who can't eat nuts. So those were easy enough. I tasted the dough, which was quite delish, but I actually didn't have a baked cookie. By the time they were done (and I had munched on a couple of the other cookies), I was in no mood for anymore. (Again I just pulled any recipe off of Google).

Then I was wanting to make a little snack type recipe and I was curious about something Sally (from Sally's Baking Addiction) seems to rave about loving ALL THE TIME! Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel Bites. So, fairly easy recipe...unfortunately, for me, it was a little difficult. I'm not sure if I just had too much peanut butter in there or if it was just way too hot in my place (which it was...) but the peanut butter mixture was pretty sticky for me, even though I kept adding icing sugar. Eventually, I just sucked it up and made it work because I didn't want to go overboard with the icing sugar. I do love peanut butter, but by the time I had finished these little guys, I was sick of liking the stuff off my fingers so I couldn't bring myself to eat one. But I'm sure they're really good! I'll let you know how they are once I've actually tried one...but for now, they're in my freezer. But thanks for the recipe Sally! Next time, I won't make something at the same time (so the oven isn't acting as a second furnace for the place) or I'll open all the windows :D
Again, no pictures...hands too sticky, Trudy too tired. Sally's look a little nicer anyways ;)

So that was my evening! This morning, after jerking awake, I did my usually morning things and jumped into my workout. Today I did an Insanity workout..."Max Interval Sports Training", if you were wondering. It's a toughy...good workout!

Do you remember last year, my love of Tim Horton's Candy Cane White Hot Chocolate? Well peeps, today was my first of the season and it was delish ;)

Though delicious, this thing seemed so dang sweet! (And it was too big, but someone got it for me and I was excited...). I don't know if it's just because I've been having a few too many sweets lately...but it was a bit of an overload. (But still yummy, love you WHCCC~!)

Never fear! I've been keeping up with my advent calender! Yesterday being the 18th, I got my first Santa! I will share though, that I have not eaten him yet... too much sugar yesterday!! Though tonight probably won't be better D:

So today is the 19th! What's my favorite stocking stuffer??
I don't particularly know why, but I've always loved the stocking :D Usually just filled with a few little random things like chocolate, little piece of jewelry, lip balm (I always lost them) and my favorite thing was snuggled right up in the toe...... A CHRISTMAS ORANGE! I don't know WHY I love the Stocking Toe Christmas Orange so much...but I just do and that's the way it is ;)

What's YOUR favorite Stocking stuffer? What does Santa put in the toe of your stocking? ;)

12 Days of Christmas!
On the 7th day of Christmas a Trudy gave to you, 7(+) songs for singing, 6 lengthy foot rubs, 5 booooxxeess of Godiiiivvaaaaaa, 4 festive movies, 3 pomegrantes, 2 pairs of sweatpants, and a fuzzy kitten named Georgey!

{Obviously I mean Christmas songs...I love singing Christmas music! (Ok, all music...but ya) ;).}

On tonight's agenda...MORE baking and I'll probably try to get the vacuuming done as well. We'll see what the night brings ;)

Toodles for meow :)!

PS. Only 2 days left for the giveaway yo! Only one person has entered for a couple of the things...chances are high! For goodness sake, why haven't you entered yet?!

The past few days I have just been CRAVING this song. I kept hoping it would play on one of the dang radio stations and it probably has, just not while I was listening. Well I decided to take things into my own hands... one of my faves! (Love the Bowie...and everyone loves Bing).
**Skip to about 1:50 for the song** ;) You're welcome.

Dang Bowie, your voice is so smooth...

May I RIP

Did you think I died? Because I did :'(

Ok ok...so I'm a little dramatic sometimes. My apologies, I got busy for a bit and then I was sick. With Bieber Fever :D Just kidding...seriously that would be even worse than the flu (which is what I actually had -- I think...).

Alllrriiiiggghhhhtttt. So I missed work Monday through Wednesday and on Thursday morning I texted my brother (boss man). It was basically like this...

Me: So I assume I should come in today?
Him: Well are you feeling better? Because we don't really need you in here if you're not.
Me: Well I'm no longer vomitting. So I guess so?
Him: Are you still contagious?
Me: I don't know. Want to risk it?
Him: If I get sick, I'll murder you.
Me: Well then... maybe I shouldn't come in. But I do kind of you know...need money.

So the agreement was, I got to pass out some door hangers. (Yippee...) You know those things people leave on your door handles... when you're least expecting it...and you don't really even look at them. Yep, for a day, that was me ;)

I was thinking...Jeez! This will be awesome! Listen to music, walk around for a few hours, make some mula...cake. And sure it was alright, but let me tell you...walking around for 5 hours straight, is not overly pleasant.

The nice thing was...it wasn't all that cold. The not so nice thing...it had snowed that morning (a lot!) and it was starting to melt. Slush + runners = SOAKED feet (for 5 hours). So I finally get home and my socks and the bottoms of my pants and my runners were right wet. Took off my socks....my feet were all wet and pruned. Gross.

A few of my noticings/noticements/things I noticed...

  • LOTS of people have dogs -- yappy dogs. So I hang that door hanger and run.
  • Some people have some really ridiculous things on their porches. I didn't think to take a picture of most. But I did take a picture of this....because it will totally be me one day. SURPRISE SCOTT :D!

  • People. What's with all the stairs?!? It feels like it takes me a whole minute just to get to the door of each house! Good gosh...
  • What's with all the No Soliciting/No Flyers/No Junk Mail signs?!? First off, I don't think it's Junk Mail so :P Second...if you're going to put one of those signs up, put it at the bottom of the stairs or by the garage or something. If I go around the corner, up the forbidden stair, around another corner all while a bunch of water is dripping on my head AND THEN see a little sign hidden in the corner...you better believe I'm hanging something on your door regardless...

At least I had this fashionable tree to keep me company...

But let me tell you... as you're walking along, and look across the street to see the fruits of your labour (door hanger minions by the dozens)... there are few greater satisfactions. Besides David Bowie.

Speakkking of David Bowie... we went and saw Labyrinth on the big screen as it was playing for a film festival. It's so much better on the big screen. And let me tell you, it was all bigger... all of it... you know what I mean...

Anyways. David Bowie...you the man. Listen to these songs everyone. 1. (sorry they make it stupid...) 2. 3.
Dang you have a smooth voice...

Ok...and for good measure, this song is awesome too...with these creepy guys...

Anything new out there? Tell me a story? :3

Ta ta for meow :)!

Hope all is well! Anyone going to Hunger Games tonight?

Derek Zoolander Centre for Kids Who Can't Read Good

Monday?! D; Why am I so sleepy?? Why didn't I move my pillows when I was clearly uncomfortable?? -.-
I don't know...

Anyways, the weekend went by quickly as expected and it's back to the office for one more week! (5 daysies {not to be confused with daisies}). It's the 19th today with 6 days until Christmas! Before we know it, the advent calendars will be all gone!

On the 7th day of Christmas a Trudy gave to you, 7 mandarin oranges, 6 snuggly pillows, 5 kinder egggggs, 4 awesome nut trays, 3 French toast, 2 candy canes, and a nice, warm, fuzzy, toque. :3

So last night I went out to Strathmore and had a gay old time! It consisted of graham cracker house making, pizza making, smoothie, cookie making and just fun. So thanks for the fun time guys :D
Here's my graham cracker house! Ps...this was my first ever time! I've never made ginger bread houses before! So don't be too critical :l
(it's the Derek Zoolander Centre for Kids Who Can't Read Good :D {kind of...})

Oh! On the radio I heard one of my favorite (Christmas) soonnngs, it has someone who likes to wear tight pants and Bing Crosby ;) Can you guess?? You'll remember if you look back at these posts (1 & 2) ;>

And yes, that's all I've got for ya! It's almost time for me to pick up another Candy Cane Cocoa :3

Toodles for meow :)!

RANDOM FACT ABOUT ME -- I have a tendency to be a grudge holder...it depends on what it was, but I usually don't let things go easily. SO watch yo back! ._.

Merry Christmas Baby!

So here we are... at Friday :D FINALLY! It feels like it took a while to get here, but it really wasn't all that terrible. (I guess...). So the sweet weekend has arrived!
What're your weekend plans??

I would tell you mine :D, but then I'd have to kill you ._. Just kidding, but I'll tell you about them tomorrow (not that they're exciting...I just wouldn't have anything to talk about tomorrow if I told you now). Anyways, tonight I was planning on having a major gym session (because basically, I have nothing better to do on a Friday night) HOWEVER I happened to forget my bag with all my work out business in it in my room...at home... :( oh noes. And I won't go home and to the gym after as that's too much driving for my likings. So it appears as though an 'at-home' work out is in order! So that is what I shall do! And then I will attack the house with cleaning supplies and win! And finally I don't work on Saturday so I get to sleep in :D! HOORAY!

So here we are on the 16th with 9 days til Christmas! Ah!
On the 4th day of Christmas a Trudy gave to youuuuuuu, 4 awesome nut trays, 3 french toast, 2 candy canes and a nice, warm, fuzzy toque :3 (it was hard to think of a 4th actually, I don't even know why...)
(because I didn't get a picture up yesterday...and french toast is delicious)

(at first glance I thought it said Merman...it made me smile...)
(PS. Times this picture by 4 ;) )

AND 5 THINGS FRIDAAAAYYYYY
Christmas Music Edition

I'm going to mention I found this one VERY difficult as I love basically all Christmas music! So this is just a list of one's I've been liking lately, but keep in mind...I love it all ;)

1. You may or may not recall this one from last year, but I love Merry Christmas Baby sung by Bruce Springsteen! It's just so good and fun to sing to! And I've had it stuck in my head for basically 2 days straight...send help, and I'll sing them Merry Christmas Baby ;D

2. All I Want For Christmas Is You...It's not an amazing song or anything, but it's just so catchy! Especially Mariah Carey's version which is on the radio at least once a day. So I've heard it a lot lately and it's just catchy, enough said.

3. The Little Drummer Boy/Peace On Earth... I've heard this song soooo much but I never knew who sung it! And when I looked it up, it all made sense! No wonder I loved it! It's David Bowie :D (And Bing Crosby is just a classic). If you'll recall I talked about David Bowie in this post ;)

4. Oh, Holy Night. Has always been one of my all time favorite songs (Christmas or not, it's so good!). It's just such a powerful song to me. And so so pretty! I didn't have a favorite cover of this song, so I just youtubed to see what came first! Celine Dion, sounds good to me! (After Celine was Josh Groban and Mariah Carey).

5. So I actually couldn't think of a 5th, so I'm going to tie it between 3 songs.
  • The Christmas Song - I'm most familiar with Celine Dion's version...but I'm sure there's tons of great covers! (This video has a bunch of Christmasy pictures!)
  • Carol of the Bells - Hey, I figured if I posted anyone it may as well be some MoTab! (Mormon Tabernacle Choir). Although if we're on MoTab you should also look up Handel Messiah's "For Unto Us" - soooo goood~!
  • River - by Joni Mitchell. It's just a pretty emotional song. Not all that joyful, but still a good song. (It was even on the Christmas Episode of Glee :D Don't hurt me...)
Remember to keep in mind that I basically love it all! So what do you figure? What're your favorite Christmas songs??
You should definitely be getting into the Spirit of Christmas by now ;) And if you aren't, well then it's your own fault!
Have a good weekend! (you'll be hearing from me again soon...getting sick of me yet?? Hmmmm?)
Ciao for meow :)!
RANDOM FACT ABOUT ME -- Some of you definitely know this about me...but I basically bruise like a peach. Frequently I'm covered in bruises and I have no idea where they come from, then again I am a heavy sleeper D: (I don't mean anything by that, don't be gross). And I have no idea where this thought came from, but it's a good thing it's supposed to be random ;)
PS. Christmasy hey?? :D

I am alive?!

Alright, alright. So here I am...giving you my life update...

Hmm...well, here's what I'll say...I've been fairly busy lately and the main thing taking up all my time is A FELLOW! Yes indeed, Trudy has a male in her life (don't take this to mean that I'm usually with females, I just usually don't date much...goodness, mind out of the gutter). We've been together for 6 weeks now so I figured it was safe to let you all in :) Things are going seemingly very well! And we're both really quite happy and also having a swell time! I'm not going to let you know who it is just yet (though most\some of you already do know), BUT I will tell you it's someone I've introduced on here ;)

I was so sad I didn't get to put another Halloween post up D: However, I did have a good time {even without trick or treating...;<} and I got to see Ghostbusters! (Pretty ridiculous...{ly awesome!}) (And no...I really hadn't seen it prior to this time).
I also went and saw the new 3 Musketeers movie! Which was also quite good! Action packed, but also kind of ridiculous and a lot different than the other movies... But you should still check it ;)

Happy 11/11/11 yesterday. Remembrance Day. I'm grateful for the country I live in and for the many freedoms we have thanks to the sacrifices made.

So thanks to that (and the awesome date of 11/11/11!, and my decision...because I don't feel like it), there will be no 5 things for this post! (Maybe next week...maybe not). But knowing me, you're probably aware I have to share my thoughts on the weather. The days are growing colder...Christmas is inching closer... and before we know it, this year will be over! ._. That's insane... (Thanks for bearing with me).

ANYWAYS! I think that's it actually. OH! I almost forgot the most important update! Recently I've brought a past movie from my childhood back to life... LABYRINTH! {Yes with David Bowie...once I've heard it said "starring David Bowie's crotch and co-starring David Bowie". If you've seen it, you know what I mean ;)} Seriously, watch this video!

{Sorry for the weird editing...this was the best version I could find}

This movie is strange, for sure! But if you haven't seen it, you should totally watch it :D And be scarred for life like the rest of us!

But seriously, David Bowie has such a smooth voice! Another one of my favorite songs by him issssss China Girl :D {DB looks soooo weird in this video! He should only show himself as the Goblin King (Labyrinth)} It's probably best you don't watch the music video...it helps ;) In fact please don't watch the video, it's creepy DDD:

Anyways.... As per ush, hope all is well with all you foo's :)

Toodles for meow :)!

RANDOM FACT ABOUT ME -- Well...I'm 21 now :D (Seems strange... ._.) OH! Plus I now have an iPhone :3 Purdy.
