Gross

Snow is only fun to play in...that's it! It's too cold and it sucks for driving. Need I mention all the idiots on the road that think they can get away with whatever because it's slippery - you all suck...learn to drive.
And snow plows, don't even get me started! Where the heck are you?? There's snow everywhere and not a plow in sight!

*sigh* Winter is definitely here. And I definitely need to retire these flip flops for the year before my little toesies freeze off. Soon...maybe.

So little Georgey is about 3 times the size of when we first got him. Of course he's still adorable and we still love him...but sometimes, he's a terror! He goes a little crazy sometimes and wants to attack our hands and whatnot and unfortunately, one day, my face got in the way D:
Don't worry (because I'm sure you were worried), it wasn't very deep...so it healed after a couple days. How do you train a kitten?? He's generally pretty good, but he's also pretty good with his claws and teeth....

Any advice?

Here's the most recent picture of him.
Don't let his adorable little face convince you otherwise...he will attack.

Here's wishing I was snowed in at home today.

Do you like the snow??

Devonian Gardens

Well, it's still snowy and cold. But I haven't seen as many shopping carts out and about.
Today was a little slippery out on the roads...good thing I left early so I could drive nice and slow.
I don't know about you, but when it snows (even a little bit), I just want to cuddle up and never leave the house (or my sweat pants).

So my weekend went pretty alright. I had to work Saturday, so that's never all that fun. 1 full day of weekend just isn't enough for my likings.
After work, Scott and I quickly went to pick up a few groceries and head home because Francesca and Benifred were on their way!
We got home just as they got there - perfect timing :)

Francesca told us that the Devonian Gardens had just recently reopened since being renovated...so that's where we went! Here's a few pictures...

Koi fish...they creep me right out. They're so big, and I'm pretty sure they wanted to eat us. Seriously...
Snazy. If only I couldn't see the koi fish over there!
Bubble trees! Made us think about bubble tea ;)
There were some nice views of downtown.
And here's the whole group :D
So that was a fun time :D There was even a little park to play on...though it was difficult (for us anyways). The kids were a little better... :P

Then we were all hungry...so to Peter's we went! (Sorry Benifred, for all our backseat driving...and sorry Francesca, hopefully you can get a Donair soon) ;) Milkshakes, fries and burgers...delish! Though I just had a milkshake, some fries and cereal when we got back to our place :D Then we hung out at our place for a bit and played The Game of Life. Either Benifred or myself won - let's just go with me ;)
Good times guys!
This weekend, we're having a birthday celebration for me! Hooray!

So even though he missed his regular shower day, George still got showered on Sunday. He still didn't like it so much...but he wasn't as bad as last week. And we had a nice fluffy, clean George again :D Scott had the day off because it was too wet out...so we were both able to go to church and then have a nice relaxing evening in :)
Though I wasn't able to have a good sleep last night sadly...I kept tossing and turning which is never fun.
Hopefully tonight is better.

This morning, still got up early to workout and then consider hibernating. But going to work won out...this time...

Ta ta for meow :)!

PS. What did you get up to this weekend? Any excitement??

PPS. A little trivia for you (because Scott did this to us) - Do any of you know WHY the Devonian Gardens are thus named? Hmmm??

I'm sorry

Well I've cursed us all. Winter came like a punch to the face last night. Monday? Nice, warm and sunny.
Last night? Frreezing cold and snow!

Even though I talked about it, I wasn't ready.
It's like...what is this foreign substance?!?

Weird. Too cold. But it is hot chocolate season ;) And never leave the house again season. Time to quit the job :D (kidding, kind of...)

Did you get hit?

Toodles for meow :)!

PS. I saw the new Calgary Alberta (LDS) Temple last night. It was packed! But it was really nice. They did a good job!

Story of sorts...

*que sad music with violins and such*

Ok, my story starts long ago (this morning at 7:15). I was staying with my sister Lambie at her hotel and I had to go start my vehicle {of course...as it's -30 or even colder} to let it run for 15 minutes before going in to work. Little did I know, my vehicle would actually end up running for a good hour and 20 minutes.

Basically, I was trying to figure out a way to have my car running while also preventing it from being stolen and well....I guess I succeeded. (Succeeded so well that I couldn't even get in...) And do I have spare keys for this vehicle? Of course not!
So I called a locksmith to come break into my car! And jeez, they're fast. He got in within 5 minutes! He told me the total would be $120. :( He then said if I paid cash, it could be $100! Of course this would be the time I didn't have cash. I asked if we could go to an ATM, at first he agreed but then we realized that traffic was probably too bad.
I reached into my wallet to grab my handy dandy VISA {which children's show is this making a reference to??? :D :D :D} when LO AND BEHOLD I had forgotten about my tithing money in my wallet :D So $100 it was! (And he didn't write up an invoice...so I'm sure he just pocketed the cash, I realized afterwards that I should've said I only had $80 cash...oh well). Pay your tithing ;) (Don't worry...I'll be replacing the $100).
I made a spare key immediately after.

The end. Fin.

Moral of the story: Don't lock your keys in your car. Also have spare keys.

There really should be some sort of law about it being too cold to leave the house and work being cancelled and the likes.

PS. Please pity me and send a donation to the 'Trudy is an idiot fund'. Kthx. :3

Cold.

It is bloody cold! Like really really cold! D: I've been inside for about an hour now and I still feel chilled to the very core of my being. So basically, winter was being awesome and mild and spring like and then it decided that it hated all of us and dumped on all of our heads. It's cold. Me no likey. Period.

This is what I'm talking about... (except I see a little peek of skin!)

I found these by google images-ing 'Bundled Up', look at the cute puppy :3

So....I suck at posting on the weekends, but that's alright. Like I still get a blog up significantly more often than I used to. But here we go. So Friday night after work I told you about the little dinner party - it was delicious! And so was our dessert~! Maybe sometime I'll post the recipe, but probably not ;) And for dinner we had crepes with broccoli, chicken, almonds, and a white delicious garlic(?) sauce. It was good, 'nuff said. We also went to see Sherlock Holmes 2, I don't know why it's been judged so critically...but I thought it was alright! (Minus the fact that we were in the very front row which wasn't the most ideal location...but oh well!) But if you enjoyed the last one at all, this one was pretty good ;)
Saturday I finally got my sleep in :D! And did a little work out and hanging out with the fine fellow.
Sunday was Stake Conference and the last hang out with the fine fellow before he headed back to work :'( I misses you!
And now here we are to Monday! I actually am getting some blood work done again so I got to get the blood drawn today and also a urine sample (yay?). Too much time has been spent outside for my likings. Ideally, I wouldn't have been outside at all today.

Anyways, bundle up! Or just live the good life for me and stay inside....

At least give me the dog. Kthx.

Brr and toodles for meow :)!

PS. LAMBIE is coming to visit for a bit and she flies in today. YAY!

Yep

So Friday and the weekend are here. Though it doesn't really feel like the weekend because I work tomorrow :< but yay for money I suppose...especially nice around Christmas.
Day 9, 16 days til Christmas. It seems to be coming pretty quickly!

So do you remember a while back web I talked about Behind Sapphire?? (refer to these posts :) :( ;/ )
Anyways, they're back on tour to promote their new songs and this is short notice but they'll be in Lethbridge tonight and they'll be playing at The Slice, so if you have a chance...check them out!
Then they'll be playing a show here in Calgary on Saturday night and here's be a link to the details for that! {{LINK}}

I realized this link might not work for you! And if it doesn't, here's the address:
1119 10 Ave SE, Calgary, AB T2G 0S8 (called The Area)
And it'll be going from about 7 to 10.

I haven't heard their new stuff but I do know they're really good and so much fun! Seriously, check em out! For realz...

Hmm I guess it's time for another 5 Things Friday..."Things that are nice about it being snowy out...I guess" Edition!

1. Sledding! If there's a good hill and it's not too cold out and there's not a bajillion kids in the way, then sledding is awesome! :D

2. Snowboarding! I've only been once, and I remember doing many face plants and being disgustingly sore after/the next day...but I also remember it being a lot of fun!

3. To be honest...it does look really pretty out when everything is covered in white! (though it's also pretty when it's green and there's flowers and such...)

4. An excuse to let the animals/pets in for the cold :D save all the things! ( a lot of you won't get that...don't worry about it). Sadly there's been no strays hanging around my door and I have no pets of my own to let in from the cold
:< Save all the hobo's? :D?

5. Bundling up, staying warm, cuddling by the fire, whatever! It's all awesome and should be done with hot chocolate near by ;)

And I'm throwing in the towel and I say good day. ;)

Toodles for meow :)!

RANDOM FACT ABOUT ME -- I love hot chocolate :D (And Chai Tea Latte's from Starbucks...) But really! Hot chocolate is delicious! Have you tried making it with mint tea water? Or with a candy cane in there? Well do it! (If you like mint...).

P.S. Did you notice the color?? :D (I had to come on my computer to link all of these up for you! Be grateful... ;l)

Bye!

If you fall...I may catch you

The only relation the title has to the post, is that it's the first day of Fall or Autumn...or something. And you know what, I'm going to embrace Fall with open arms! Sadly, my putting up a fight won't hinder it's arrival. So come here buddy - give me a hug! (But so help me, if you bring Winter soon...I'll get you ._.)
This amused me :D-------------------->

Anyways...Fall really isn't so bad. The main thing I dislike about it, is that Winter generally follows along pretty quickly. And I just hate driving in the winter :< (Scary!) And we all know that I'm not a fan of being cold. (Well...I know it anyways...) And if you didn't know, here's a poem to sum up my feelings.

*ahem*

Cold, cold - Go away.
I hate you, and you are gay (syn
onymial to lame).

And there you have it.

And here you have this! *drumroll*

{5 Things} Friday (from technically yesterday because I didn't get a chance to finish...)
Things I like about Fall (edition?)

1. The Colors! Red, orange, yellow, brown. All so pretty...all so warm :) Don't get me wrong, I love the green in Spring and Summer...but by the time Fall gets here, you're (I'm) ready for the change.

2. All the leaves. I love walking in an area with a lot of trees... and leaves are just falling everywhere. It's quite peaceful if I do say so myself. I don't know, I'm one of those people that enjoys the beauty in nature. Hope you do too :) (And moving on from that lame fest...)

fall leaves nature image 31002 pictures, backgrounds and images
Along with that note...leaves are fantastic for jumping in! I haven't done it in...well...a long long while. But lets be serious - everyone enjoys a good leaf jump fiesta. Or they should anyways.
(Not a big fan of the whole raking element though...)

3. The festive spirit that comes and builds up until Christmas. You know what I'm talking about?
Along with fall comes...
curling up and cuddling under a blanket
getting to bundle up in sweaters, scarves, boots and the likes
hot chocolate/apple cider season begins ;) (ok...in my books these are condoned all year round. as is ice cream. good day.)
baked goods (also all year round...but you know what I mean right?)
getting dark earlier equates to going to bed earlier :D (ok...sometimes :P)
and many many more!
What better way to sum up festive fall spirit than a... festive smiling acorn? :D
(Trust me...I tried...)

4. Crisp air. I don't know what it is...there's something nice about the crisp air that fall brings. It's refreshing and actually a nice change after the Summer months (Summer I still love you...).
The only bad thing, is it generally also means the air is getting more dry (thus resulting in my nose leaking read fluid... or just leaking more in general).

(intense lighting for a box of kleenex, hey?

5. Last and certainly not least... Halloween and me birthday :D
Not that I've really been into dressing up or anything lately, and I stopped trick or treating a loooonnnnngggg long time ago (I went until I was 18... -.- ). But it's just such an exciting time...full of deliciously fattening things. And hello! Pumpkin carving and such!
(WARNING: I am biased as my birthday and Halloween are so close..
.)
Anyways, 'nuff said...it's awesome.
(This picture reminds me of Nightmare Before Christmas...I haven't seen that in a long while)

And here I leave you with a massive fro...

Apparently this chick holds the world record for her fro. Her hair is over 4 feet long! How would you see?!??

And now I bring this post to a close... What're your thoughts on Fall? What's on your list?

Toodles for meow :)!

RANDOM FACT ABOUT ME -- Yes, I actually did trick or treat until I was 18 (or rather, my last year was when I was 18). It's been a long past 3 years ;<

PS...the font size in this post was possessed... seriously D': It took me sooo long to make it look even somewhat normal :(
