Behind Sapphire & 5 Things Friday :D

Alright, I may as well make at least ONE more post about Behind Sapphire. SO I (and Strongbad) got to hang out with them one more time before they left Calgary. (Which included Tubby Dog and Bubble Tea!) I even tried a couple of the Dogs...(as in one bite of 2 kinds)....1. Sumo Dog(?) with seaweed, some sort of ginger, and I don't even know what else. 2. Peanut Butter, Jam, and Captain Crunch (yes on a hot dog). What I'm going to say - they were interesting ;)
I did however get myself a Bubble Tea (as per a suggestion from Steven {drums}) of Mango Peach with pearls. It was pretty scrump :D!
Then we went back out (to Strongbad's aunt and uncle's place) to watch a movie. We had in mind to watch O Bother, Where Art Thou, but well... that just was not in the cards apparently! So instead, Brayden {bass} made the executive decision that we'd watch How To Train Your Dragon (as he hadn't yet seen it). As you may or may not remember from this post, I was a big fan of the movie... BUT I seemed to use Steven as a pillow for half the movie anyways ;)

Tuesday (not to mention car problems) I ended up going to Stampede with BK, Strongbad, White China, Francesca, & Francesca's squeeze {haha...still no rundown or new name yet ;)}. Anyways, it was my first Stampede experience - and it was a lot of fun! There were good rides, good eats, and good times (even after it started raining near the end). Highlights from the venture... 1. Starship 4000 {an anti-gravity type ride} - at the end of the night the guy running the ride would let us stand up and flip upside down and such. So fun! Except he kept leaving the "control board" and coming to talk to me(?) Weird.... ._.
2. Lemonade! I love getting the lemonade at these things. It's so tasty!
3. New toe ring! (I don't think you need a description on that...)
4. Missing soccer to stay later at Stampede! (for shamesies on me). >:3
5. The motocross show. These guys do absolutely INSANE things, I would die...seriously.

AND on to Wednesday. Strongbad {at the wheel}, Francesca and myself headed down to the Bridge to see Behind Sapphire perform an actual set live. Matt {guitar} was kind of difficult to track down ;), SO we ended up hanging out with my parents for a few hours. We had dinner, played cards, talked - fun times.
Then finally it was time to head to the Owl Acoustic Lounge! And it was so good! Such a high energy performance with great songs. I even bought a CD - yay! (Yes, I'm a groupy...but they're really talented!)
We then got to hang out with them for a while after the performance...help take down, help Steven play Tetris to get all of their equipment and things shoved in the back of the van, help Grant {vocals} eat some peaches ;), and then say good bye :(.
It was so sad that it was finally over. You guys are absolutely fantastic, and I cannot wait until I get to see you again! {Miss you!}

So...I've already had 2 mini lists of 5 things. But I decided I'm going to do an actual 5 Things Friday list (as you may have seen on other bloggy mcbloginsteins). The theme of this week will be music.

5 Things Friday
Music Edition

1. Well because I've been talking a lot about Behind Sapphire lately, I should definitely share at least one of theirs. This is probably my favorite song (you'll need to turn it up a bit as it is a recording from a live show). But they do have some songs on YouTube that are better quality ;)

Note: As you may notice...there are a lot of people in the band at that time. Their band is kind of ever changing. But Matt, Grant, and Steven are pretty core members I'd say. Brayden isn't in the video...but he's awesome nonetheless ;)

2. I actually found this just recently. And I find especially this song amusing because she sounds so similar to Nicki Minaj (P.S. I'm not saying I'm a huge fan or anything :P). I kind of think this cover is better than the original though :X. I also checked out a few of her other songs...but she sounds like...well kind of like an annoying rapping girl in all of them. She's definitely got some skills, just saying I'm not the biggest fan of all of her covers. She has some originals as well if you want to check those out ;)

**SIDENOTE** I would post the actual videos on here for all of these....But I don't know how to put up more than one D: (And I just figured out how to put just one up today). Help me??

3. I have no idea why I thought of this song today.... But Shout by Tears for Fears is my #3.
I don't have any story behind it, nor reasoning for picking it. Basically, it just sounds amusing to me.

4. Metric! We were listening to one of their CD's on the way to the Bridge. I have a few favorites (Help I'm Alive, Dead Disco, Sick Muse and more), but I decided to post a link to Gold Guns Girls. I've only really been familiar with Metric for....probably the past couple years. So I'm still working on familiarizing myself with them.

5. When I mentioned Sick Muse (by Metric), it reminded me of the band Muse. My favorite song by them would likely be Uprising, though Knights of Cydonia is pretty good as well. Muse probably isn't one of my favorite bands, but well...they popped into my head and therefore make the list!

Now this has been long, so I'm calling it quits! (Seriously....half {if not all} of you probably passed out 5 minutes ago)...

RANDOM FACT ABOUT ME -- Often times, when I sing along with music...I don't even realize I'm doing it! I don't know if that would be considered skilled, or simply just thoroughly annoying (though either way, I think it's still skills) ;) Toodles!

Moving on....

Literally...I'm moving D:
Lambie's boyfriend is coming home so I get the boot (a boot I was willing to take, but a boot nonetheless). Though it's a pretty good deal! I'll be living with 2 other girls (who are quite easy going and friendly), only sad thing will be sharing one bathroom between the three of us D: But I'm sure I'll manage just fine (as it's only for 2 months anyways).
Soooo, yesterday I moved about half of my things in... and tonight I'll be moving the other half and then getting settled I suppose. I'll keep ya posted with how things are going ;)

The weekend is fiiinnnnaaaaallllyyy here! (GAH - I have a ton of McSqueet bites! --yes that does mean mosquito). ;) So, we'll be having a joint birthday party for Francesca and a going away party for Strongbad (as he is about to head back to work! - we'll miss you!). What else is going on this weekend? I have no idea! But I'll let you know after it's over :)

RANDOM FACT ABOUT ME -- (I have no idea if I've shared this before or not). I usually like to have nail polish on my toes all the time... but I haven't had it on for many a month! I should get on that... I could also mention I always have a toering on (like quite literally always - never take it off), but most of you already know that ;)

OH! Update - today is my 3rd day without sugar/ice cream/chocolate :D YAY! (Lambie is doing excellently as well). So far so good (I know it doesn't sound that impressive... but you should know I love ice cream!), but I have a feeling bad things will happen tomorrow at our party D: Am I allowed one indulgence?? PLEASE?!

Just kidding (not really).

Anyywaaayyys. I'm not longer sick, worryeth not! I'm doing pretty fantastic and am about to tell you of my weekend.
Frriiiddaaayyy - Black Light Dance! It was quite fun, tons of people (so it got a little stinky near the end - BO x.X)
Saturday - To EDMONTON! It was Maximus' birthday, so we got up nice and early and headed to the mall. BK, White China, Maximus, (and BK's girlyfriend) were in one vehicle and then Strongbad, Francesca, and myself were in the other. I don't know if it was a party in the other vehicle, but our vehicle WAS TOTALLY not a party x). I'm not saying it was bad... Francesca slept most of the trip (there and back) so Strongbad and I had plenty of time to get our talk on!
OH! One more thing about the drive up, there were some police dudes on motorbikes - seriously people?! Some people get so ridiculous around cops... they won't even go above the speedlimit at all (on the QE!). But I will give it to the coppers, they were definitely messing with everyone.
SO, first thing on the agenda was hitting up the Water Park (t'was my first time). We were there for basically 5.5 hours - most definitely fun, but everyone was pretty exhausted after...
We then went to eat, perused the mall a bit and eventually hit the trail going home.
All in all - good day! Long day, but good. It was definitely fun - Happy Birthday Maximus.

Sunday - church and thhheeennn Lambie got home - yay! Great to see you again, I missed you!
SIDE NOTE -- it was free milkshake day at Peters, needless to say...we went and got one ;) The church is true!

So it was a great weekend - thanks to everyone who was in it :D

One more thing I'll share... yesterday (Tuesday), we had a soccer game. Sadly we lost again D: We were the better team overall, but things happen. Oh well. (3-2). We'll win next time!
Shout out to #10 from the other team though... you're amazing! Your team would lose without you.
Afterwards we went out for Bubble Tea - t'was my first time! I will say it was quite scrumptious and I even liked the pearls! (in small doses...)

RANDOM FACT ABOUT ME -- Ok this is more an update...but it's still a random fact...about my life! Lambie and I have decided to try our healthy eating again for our 2 weeks before going to Texas.

Food equates to energy

Therefore...I have very little/no energy. Didn't feel better yesterday, so I didn't eat at all (and haven't yet today). But I have intentions of eating today so long as my appetite comes back. I don't necessarily feel sick today but I don't feel hungry, though I'm pretty sluggish (likely from the lack of eating). And I just realized this seems ridiculously hard to word everything together! My brain is shutting down (or just dying a little bit)!! D:

So yesterday I still went to work and, sadly, I wasn't able to go to Kick class :( Instead I went home, got some laundry going and had an hour nap. When I woke up, I decided I wanted to try to go swimming (because we weren't able to go on Monday and I was missing it!). So to the pool I went! (Along with BK, White China, Big Bear, Francesca, Maximus, and Strongbad). Should I have gone swimming? Probably not. I felt tired and weak the whole time and I didn't talk to some people that I should've (Big Bear - who actually left early?). But I got through swimming and still had some fun. Afterwards...some people were going on the usual Dennys run, but I passed because I felt exhausted and knew I wouldn't eat anything there anyways.

One little sidenote...it seems as though there is a decent amount of "drama" going on in our group of friends as of lately. I'm not particularly worried though because things will work/smooth out.

Another thing, I know I've gotten new followers...I expect more comments and suggestions. :P

RANDOM FACT ABOUT ME -- I've only had stitches twice in my life... 1) When I was a youngin, right in the middle of my forehead. (Perhaps I'll share the story sometime). And 2) When I got all my wisdom teeth out. AND I've never broken a bone ;)

Aiight! Well, I should just throw down something every now and then so here goes!
T'was a good weekend! I believe Lambie comes home this weekend soooo, looking forward to that! (Besides the fact the now I'll have to move - but bring it on adventure!)

Francesca spent the whoooollllle weekend with me (long weekend - yay!). Friday night I went on a double date with Francesca, Strongbad, and another dude which I do not have time to do a little rundown on right now (and I haven't "named" him yet haha), so hopefully I'll get on that for tomorrow ;) Which was good! I'll perhaps give a few more details tomorrow as well.

Saturdayyyy went for a run - was sunny and nice! Then had a nice low key, not at all stressful afternoon. White China, BK, Francesca, Strongbad and the snuggler(?) {ya...I should probably change this nickname as it isn't entirely applicable anymore... so I'll refer to him as Maximus from here on out) then went to a park to play grounders (ridiculous[ly awesome] - I know). We then went for a little fire to have s'moooorreeeees and such!

Sunday - church, and yet another fire!

Monday - pretty low key, CREPE PARTY (delicious)! Then fhe and out to BK's to watch Scrubs!

All in all, fun weekend...it went by fast yet seems like it took so long! Jeesh, life eh? Didn't quite get enough sleep, but tis alright! Just about to head to soccer now though - so wish me luck! I PROMISE I'll get another post up tomorrow because this one is a little bit lame...OK FINE - a lot!

RANDOM FACT ABOUT ME -- I haven't been late for soccer yet - so I have to go so I'm not! haha (sorry!)

FINE - something quick....today I was reminiscing with someone about concerts we've been to. The only concert I've been to is KALAN PORTER (don't judge me.) It was within the year of him winning Canadian Idol (whenever that was). Anyways...I was little obsessed for a bit, had a bit of a crush but I'm turned out ok! (right??) So check out this song (used to be one of my fave's) ;)

Alright weekend over - back to reality (oh there goes gravity -- what song am I using here). No hints! No google! But if you do know... comment ;) And you get a point! (A meaningless point - but a point nonetheless).

So it was a pretty goooood weekend overall! You realize how quickly you can become close with someone after just spending a large amount of time over a short period. I've really gotten to know quite a few people and I like them all! But throughout the weekend, there was a core group that spent the most time together - and I'll tell ya, there was some bonding! (not in weird ways...if that's how it sounds). Once you spend a lot of time with someone or just start connecting with them and hearing more about their life...it's bound to happen! I quite enjoy the people I have around me and I'm grateful to know them! Haha. My perspective on friends has changed quite a bit since leaving the bridge... I still enjoy having a few very close friends (which is more what I had), but here I've gotten to know and become friends with a LOT of people. And I will say it's difficult to maintain that friendship and keep things going and help them feel cared about (in a sense). But I'm doing my best, and I'm happy to know the people I do.
A few people of noteworthy mention for now will be...
...Francesca (yes, I do still alter the names) a spunky youngin'! (I'm no longer the youngest one). She's very artistic (in fact she did a portrait of me :o ), very pleasant to be around and also loves a good argument - she's always right. She's also a runner and is training to do a marathon (go you!). She spent the whoollllle weekend with me, and I will say it was fun! I'm glad I could get to know her a bit and can't wait to get to know her more.
...BK a joker that all can get along with. He's quite amusing but knows the limit and doesn't take things too far. He's one of the people that can really bring a group together, easy to talk to. He's also artistic and works in constructionish.
...White China so chill and relaxed but quite funny. He's very quiet sometimes, but when he does say something...it's always worth it. And he makes the best facial expressions. Overall - quite amusing!
There are definitely more people...but I would say that is the core group as of now. And I hope no one gets offended for not getting mentioned because I know more people hang out and I still love you and think lots of you and have things I could say about everyone!

Anyways, I'm glad for all the people I have met... I know it's difficult to maintain relationships especially when you don't see people very often. But I'm trying my best for what I have the time for right now. Love you all!

Shout out to W, good luck in your school and wedding prep. My thoughts and prayers are always with you and your family and you know what that entails. Love you :)
