This is not another leap years post...

HAPPY LEAP YEAR DAY! (Whatever that means...)
I couldn't help it, it only comes once every 4 years! (Right? I don't remember...)

So February 29th, I say hello and also goodbye until 2016 (Jeez, that's a long time...I'll be 25 then!). May you have a pleasant hibernation.

Weekendness and the likes.
So yes, W came up and we had a swell time and then I met up with my Scott fellow and even met a couple of his friends. It was actually pretty good! They were great guys and fun to talk to :)

Then at church on Sunday, a bunch of people were coming to congratulate us and see the ring in its glorious ringy state. And I also saw Francesca! Good to see you! Did I mention she's engaged?
Well, she's engaged! So congrats to her. We were discussing all we have planned so far. It was nice to bounce ideas off one another ;)

But yes, that's it. Anyone up to some delightful Leap Year Day activities??

Toodles for meow :)

Today I have Outkast on the brain! So here's Ms. Jackson and one of my favorites when I was younger...Roses!

Annnndddd a few pictures for the road...

This sloth is not cute to me... Why am I sharing it? I don't know...

Look at this cute little fluffy thing :D Apparently endangered :(

More baby otters :D

A big ol' hairy moth to haunt your day... (ok, probably just my day)

Fudgies and baby otters

I hate Monday's... but I love fudgies (which I made last night)!

So I don't feel like editing the post from Friday... so instead I'll share THE fudgie recipe here...

FUDGIES
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup milk
2 generous tbsp of cocoa
(I also added a bit of vanilla)

(It helps to get the lumps out of the cocoa prior to this step, you should also lay some wax paper out)
Melt butter and add sugar and cocoa. Then add milk (and vanilla if you wish) and keep stirring. Bring to a boil and immediately add to 3 cups of rolled oats and 1 cup coconut.

Once it's all mixed together, quickly scoop into little mounds (or large...whatever size is most pleasing unto you). Work quickly because it starts to set fast! (And make sure you eat some while it's warm because that, my friends, is when it's most delicious ;)

I forgot to take a picture :<

And for the remainder of this post, I'm posting random pictures...
Maybe I'll talk tomorrow.

Animal abuse...but cute animal abuse.

Don't worry, he might grow into them.

Maybe eventually he'll be able to roll all the way over...At least he's cute?

Sure, it's all fun and games until that rabbit realizes it's not real.

Well someone's having a good time.

Oh great. Now I have to find myself some little otters -.-

Peace for meow :)!

Happy Birthday Michael Bolton

Michael Bolton (actually Michael Bolotin) presently looks something like this...

But you may remember him in this glorious state....

(Is it sad that I almost couldn't find this picture because I scrolled though quick and thought this was my hair? I don't know if that's insulting to him or me...)

So 59 years ago, this little laddy graced the world with his presence...{I'd like to think he came out with a mini mullet} :D. Apparently he originally performed in hard rock and heavy metal genres when he was with a band called Blackjack. Here's a few songs by them... 1. 2. 3.
Some of their songs are surprisingly not bad! They seem more classic rock than hard to me though...
But of course Michael is best known for his sweet soft ballads and distinctive tenor voice ;)
He's also the one who sang 'Go The Distance' from Hercules (Disney) during the end credits.

Some of you may remember such songs as
this. But I personally have come to know him more when accompanied by Lonely Island ;) (He makes this song/video for sure). PS. This song does have some language in it for those who wish to save their little earsies.

WARNING -- It can get disturbingly trapped in your brain for hours or possibly days. Doctor's cannot help....

So Cheers to you Michael. Happy Birthday #59, and here's to another year.

And on another note (but kind of the same note of Michael and mullets). One of my sisters sent this link to me on Friday and I consider it my duty to share it with all of you. And my mullets stay where they belong....in pictures, in our minds, but most importantly...in the past ;)

Michael for meow :)!

What do you think of mullets?? And the Bolton?

TGIF

Sweet weekend! I know I only had to work 3 days this week...but I'm definitely ready for the weekend! Not too much to share from my evening and week. It was a good week, but pretty laid back (which was good). It's been snowing on and off lately, which isn't all that pleasing unto me...but I guess I don't really have a choice in the matter (sadly).

Anything exciting happen in your week?

Let's do a five things friday of things I like today!

5 Things Friday

1. W is coming to visit me today! I haven't seen her since... (looks back at blog quick) ok, I guess it's only been about a month. But that's kind of a long time! Anyways, I'm excited. Hmm...it was exactly a month since I last saw her....and it was exactly a month previous when I saw her in December :o Insane. Right? Maybe? Yes.

So what am I doing tomorrow? Hanging out with the W ;)

2. Fudgies! A delicious dessert...no bake cookie I guess it would be. Lots of people know them as Haystacks, but for my life...they're fudgies ;) Anyways, I have a niece that apparently made them last night and she posted this picture on facebook.

Mmm... these are so good! And I haven't had them in a long while. I would post a recipe, but it wouldn't be THE recipe. I'll get that from my mother when I talk to her next (later today) and share it with all ya'll. I'll edit this post to add it in :)

3. I'm enjoying that I haven't been in an accident for a while (and I intend to keep it that way...). Please don't kill me luck (or lack of rather...). But the same can't be said for this poor soul. I snapped this picture quick when I was on the way to work.

4. 3 games...
  • Words with friends
  • Scamble with friends
  • Hanging with friends

If you have an iPhone (or some android phones...), get these games! They're amusing, great time wasters, and they're not entirely pointless (only semi...)! And you get to play it with either someone random, or some friends you know that have it too!

5. Being engaged! :) We made it 'Facebook official' so I got this request...

The first thing that came to my mind?

Hahaha. It's just funny to me how facebook words it. Like he's proposing over facebook and I can just say ya...no thanks ;) I said yes originally Scott, but I'm saying no now!
Just kidding.
Love you :)

And that's it for now! Anything you're liking today? (besides the fact that it's Friday...)

Ciao for meow :)!

Photo Journey of Banff (part 2)

Most of these pictures were taken on the last day (Monday) before leaving. A couple were taken in our adventures through the hotel.
We slept in, got ready, loaded up the truck, and wandered around taking pictures. (I mainly wandered around looking at the pretty scenery and enjoying that the sun was out, Scott is more the picture taker {aka...photographer I suppose}) ;)

But these are a few of the shots I took!

Scott was busy...so I amused myself ;)

Probably one of my favorite shots. The mountains are pretty.
(Some photos you need to click on to see in their true glory)

As you may or may not have noticed, he had a few lens changes.
He got some great shots, and enjoyed doing it :)

A chandelier from inside the hotel.

By no means my favorite...it's just a picture. It's difficult to arrange the photos after putting them up, and that's why they're in an extremely random order ;)

Anyways, it was a great trip and a fantastic weekend. Thanks Scott!

Since being back, it's been work, eating?, and we watched the first half of the third Lord of the Rings (Return of the King). We will finish eventually!

Anything going on with you? Watched anything recently?

Byeas for meow :)!

PS. I've had a bit of a cold/been really stuffed up lately :( Please make it go away, kthx :)!

Pictures of Banff Adventures

So we're back from Banff, and back to that "real world" (boo...). But these pictures are from Sunday (Scott's birthday).

We slept in...got all purdied (so just showered basically), opened Scott's gifty gift and hit the town! So yes, we went for brunch which was quite tasty! It was a big array of pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, and hashbrowns. All delish (except for the sausage which I passed off to Scott) :)

Then we decided to wander around Banff for some adventures! So we went in the little shops and I don't think we got anything actually... (besides candy)... but look at this cute little fox wallet!

I would've gotten it...but it was actually kind of expensive and not all that practical for the
amount of space I need. (I need a lot of wallet space)

So we came back to the hotel, and our room was all tidied and done up. Anything we left in, they arranged in some snazy way. Here's just a small example with my toothbrush :D

Then we did a bit more exploring (around the hotel) before deciding upon the birthday dinner feast! The special for the evening was yorkshire, roast beef, and mashed potatoes (and these cute little buns). It was so good~! (And also so expensive...as everything at this hotel is).

Cute little buns! Scott got the twisty one.

The feast itself!

Scott's birthday cheesecake!

My birthday chocolateyness? :D

Scott seemed satisfied and pleased with the day :D

It was a good day :)

Ta ta for meow :)!

Happy birthday!

It's time for an unveiling of sorts...fine fellow has given me permission to use his name as he will frequently be on the blog. Scott! Scott Stronach in fact :) so he will no longer be referred to as strongbad or fine fellow, just Scott (or my lover...or maybe fine fellow sometimes) ;) Soooo Happy Birthday Scott! Love you! And here's a few more pictures of our adventures this weekend!
(Mainly pictures of you Scotty! And the view... Though he apparently likes putting things on his head! In actuality, I made him put the hat and the scarfy on)
:3

Hope your weekends have been just as splendid! (if not moreso).

Ciao for meow :)!

Banff getaway!

So the fine fellow (fiancé!) and I are at the banff springs hotel for the weekend as it's his birthday! Upon getting here, he dropped his glove on the ground...it looks alive!!

Lord of the Rings

Alright, so last night we went to Brava - so delish! Crispy Crackling Chicken with Mac and Cheese and carrots. You don't even know, it's so good.

Afterwards we headed back to fine fellow's place for some ice cream and to finish the second half of the 2nd Lord of the Rings. (I quote these movies far too much...soon no one will want to watch them with me :< ) But ah, The Two Towers has so many good parts! One day I'll be an Ent...you'll see!

All in all a great evening!

Oh, did I mention I'm engaged?
Because...well, I AM! :D

Now who's the Lord of the Rings ;)

Seriously though, I'm so happy :D

Fare well for meow :)!

Hope your evening was as splendidilyumptious as mine!

Wednesday, February 15, 2012

Well hey there! Hope your Valentine's Day was filled with awesomeness and delicious things :) And hopefully you can realize that you shouldn't need a special day to show someone how much you love or appreciate them, really it's just another day ;)
(I can say this from experience as I've been at both ends of the spectrum).

Hopefully your day looked nothing like this, even if you were alone (unless your day was completely adorable whilst being forlorn?).

Anything exciting happen? Just a regular day?
Fine fellow and I made a delicious dinner (seriously, so good) of Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo. It was a homemade sauce and mmm - 'nuff said ^.^ ~! I also brought the newest skittles over, Confused Skittles (or something?...they're in a purple bag), which are quite delish! They are slightly confusing, because none of the flavors match the color. But they're good flavors :)
And, as per my request, we watched Gladiator (extended edition...which is basically 3 hours long)...Ah! Such a good movie! In my eyes anyways, Russell Crowe is awesome.
All in all, a good night - love you Strongbad (fine fellow -- same thing)!

So today, I managed to make myself look decent before work. Trust me...I usually am NOT a pretty sight in the morning (plus there is never makeup put on for work). Why, you may ask, did I make myself presentable? Recall I mentioned yesterday that the fine fellow and I were going out for dinner tonight? Well, we're going out for dinner tonight! So I figured I should at least look half decent for the world (and fine fellow, of course), especially since we're going to a nicer restaurant called Brava Bistro. It's on 17th and, dear goodness, it's good! I'm excited :)

(Yep, you get to see a lot of me on here) :)

One last thing. Lately we've been having fantastic weather here! Seriously...so nice. But 2 days ago, all of the sudden...dump. Dump of snow. Whyyy?!? I'm used to no snow this year, and I like it that way. Too much white in this picture for my likings.
One nice thing about it being dark and snowing in the city, it makes everything glow just a little bit. Kind of pretty.

Anyways, thanks for checking in and listening to my rants ;)

Hope all is well!

Ciao for meow :)!

May this photo bring you joy

It speaks for itself...

Love Day?

(Animal abuse)

So Happy Valentine's and good day to you all. What do you figure?

This is actually my first Valentine's Day that I've not been single! (PS, things are still going great if you were curious), And what did I want to do for Valentine's? Absolutely nothing! It's going to be far too crazy out tonight, so in we stay! I have a slight idea of what we're doing, but you never know...so I'll fill you in tomorrow ;) However, we are going out for a post Valentine's dinner tomorrow :D!

What're your memories from Valentine's Day?

I remember back in elementary school...making a little "mailbox" (or rather, folder to hang from your desk). And you bring in a little Valentine and usually also a treat for everyone in the class. (I don't know if this is how it was everywhere...as I did grow up in a small town). I'm fairly certain we were sent home with a list of all the kids in the class (which you knew them all anyways) and the next day, you come with something for everyone! And then we'd have a little party! Why don't we do this nowadays?
1. I want a little cheesy valentine! ('Be Mine' and 'You're cute' and such - so lame) :D
2. Party with delicious heart shaped things - hello!? (Plus, you can never have too much red food coloring) ;)

I also remember always getting a Valentine's Day gift from my mother (well, parents I guess). Chocolate and a little something else. At least my mom always loved me :D

So what're you getting up to this evening? Are you celebrating another time or do you celebrate at all?
Share YOUR memories :)

Byeas for meow :)!

PS. I used to think of Valentine's as single awareness day... I just heard on the radio that 15% of women will send flowers to themselves (at their office or whatever) to show off. That sounds a little ridiculous to me x) But you do what you've got to do! Like I used to loved getting gifts from my mother...so whatever works! :D

And just think, chocolate will be on clearance tomorrow ;)

And if nothing else, always remember...

(what the heck??) x]
